Greenbelt offers ACLS, PALS and PEARS in accordance with the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (HSFC) . Greenbelt operates out of a large country home NW of Toronto, between Newmarket and Orangeville. The course curriculum for ACLS has increased in duration to 13 hours, running over two days predicated on a 6:1 instructor-student ratio. As always, your breaks are short and you have a working lunch with lecture, DVD and discussion. PALS provider courses run over two days, approximately 15 hours. All our courses run on weekdays. The 2015 manual and 2015 ECC handbook are included and expedited to your door ahead of time. There is pre course study to be done so that you are prepared for your course. For ACLS and PALS courses you must have BLS issued from The Heart and Stroke Foundation within the last year. HSFC has also mandated that ACLS and PALS courses have a written exam component (including update/recert courses). Light breakfast, lunch, snacks and parking are provided. You receive your e-card upon successful completion of the course by logging in to the HSF website with your HSF number and password. A receipt is issued at the end of day two. Greenbelt also offers the Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) program for interested health care providers.
